SUMMARY

A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced

Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function within a high-volume, 24/7 production environment. This role is ideal for a strategic engineering leader with a strong electrical engineering background, proven people management experience, and extensive knowledge of maintenance, projects, utilities, and statutory compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving engineering excellence, improving plant reliability, managing capital projects, ensuring legal compliance, and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

POSITION INFO

Minimum Requirements BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering. GCC Factories (Mechanical) - Essential . Certified Energy Manager (CEM) qualification will be advantageous. Minimum 8 years' engineering experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environments. Minimum 5 years in Engineering or Maintenance Management . Experience in a GMR 2.1 appointment is highly advantageous. Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies, utilities, project execution, and engineering compliance. Experience managing large operational and capital budgets. Key Responsibilities Lead the Engineering and Maintenance departments across the manufacturing facility. Provide strategic direction for maintenance, engineering projects, facilities, and utilities. Ensure statutory compliance in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and GCC requirements. Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve plant availability and reliability. Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programmes. Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and asset optimisation initiatives. Lead engineering capital projects from concept through implementation. Develop and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets. Oversee energy management and sustainability initiatives. Conduct engineering risk assessments and ensure implementation of mitigation measures. Develop engineering standards, procedures, and best practices. Manage contractor performance and service level agreements. Lead, coach, mentor, and develop engineering managers, supervisors, artisans, and technical teams. Work closely with Operations to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime. Drive engineering KPI performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
