Duties would include, but are not limited to:

The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's information technology operations, including planning and implementing IT policies, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems, analyzing technology needs, and implementing strategic upgrades to support business goals.

  • Overseeing the daily operations of network infrastructure, servers, and systems, including hardware and software maintenance, upgrades, backups as well as maintenance of IT Asset list
  • Developing and managing the IT budget, forecasting costs, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect data and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Ensuring that all group and company policies are adhered to
  • Leading IT projects from initiation to completion, including system implementations, upgrades, and migrations
  • Researching and evaluating new technologies, hardware, and software to identify potential improvements and cost savings.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues, identifying root causes, implementing solutions to minimize downtime as well as assist IT Support calls for group
  • Collaborating with other departments to understand business needs and ensure IT initiatives align with strategic goals.
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to mitigate potential disruptions and data loss.
  • Development of SLAs for ITCs in country.
  • Develop and execute a travel plan to check that the IT solution in the Countries is optimal and compliant. Thus frequent travel to the Countries may be required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in an IT Manager role
  • Relevant degree or diploma
  • Experience within the Automotive industry is highly advantageous

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders across different departments
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Strong technical knowledge across various IT domains like network administration, server management, security protocols, and cloud computing
  • Expertise in data centre management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Strong problem solving & interpersonal skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects
  • Understanding of business operations and ability to align IT strategies with business goals
  • Willing and able to travel to East Africa
