DIESEL – TECHNICIANS WESTERN CAPE

Our client in the Western Cape currently has vacancies for Diesel Technicians. The positions will suite someone with experience in the Commercial Vehicle Industry. FORD Trucks experience is a MUST.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of the job is to provide technical and diagnostic expertise within the service department and in doing so, advise mechanics on best practice methodologies for repairs and improvements as per customer requirements.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

To carry out diagnostic work and support mechanics as instructed by the Foreman

To provide advice and support to mechanics on technical matters

To carry out fault diagnosis to aid and speed vehicle servicing

To ensure diagnostic equipment is used for vehicle examinations

To take steps to ensure servicing of vehicle, remains within the targeted percentages of the manufacturers' time

To discuss matters with customers as required and provide lucid explanations

To ensure standards maintained with vehicle care and safety whilst performing functions

To ensure vehicles are returned to the customer after service in a neat and clean condition

Ensure diagnosis leads to most cost-effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint

To recommend purchase of capital equipment

Admin Functions

oTo complete forms and documentation included in the company's service routine

oTo draft and prepare any reports required

Ensure effective communication with staff, across departments, with customers and service providers

Willingness to participate in marketing campaigns when required for the furtherance of the business

Experience, Qualifications And Training

Completed Technician Qualification (3-4 years)

3-5 years’ experience working as a Technician
