SUMMARY

An Internal Vacancy exists for a 

Financial Controller in the 

Technical Division based in Head Office - Centurion.

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:    

POSITION INFO

Financial Management and Reporting Manage the full monthly accounting function for the Technical Division. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Prepare and review income statement and balance sheet reconciliations. Process and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and general ledger transactions. Prepare and consolidate financial and management reports. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting. Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and audits. Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and financial procedures Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Planning Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process. Develop financial forecasts and cash flow projections. Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast. Analyse variances and provide recommendations for corrective action. Support management with financial planning and decision-making. Revenue and Cost Management Oversee revenue management and revenue recognition processes. Review and monitor project costing and job costing activities. Analyse profitability, margins, and operational performance. Review cost allocations and identify opportunities for cost savings. Assist operational management in improving financial performance and efficiencies. Reconciliations and General Accounting Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations. Manage intercompany account balancing and related transactions. Ensure all accounting records are complete and accurate. Monitor and resolve outstanding financial discrepancies. Maintain sound accounting practices up to trial balance level Asset Management Manage the fixed asset register. Process asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation. Conduct asset reconciliations and verification exercises. Ensure compliance with company asset management policies. Cash and Working Capital Management Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements. Oversee petty cash controls and reconciliations. Assist in improving cash collection and payment processes. Compliance, Risk and Internal Controls Maintain effective internal financial controls. Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards. Support internal and external audit processes. Identify and mitigate financial risks within the division. Implement corrective actions arising from audit findings. Management Support and Leadership Provide financial support and guidance to Technical Division management. Present financial information and reports to management when required. Develop strong working relationships with operational managers and stakeholders. Assist in mentoring and supporting junior finance staff. Participate in process improvement and financial system enhancement initiatives.  Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:      Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification. BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Honours Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field will be advantageous. Professional registration or qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA or equivalent) will be advantageous. Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting and finance experience. Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role. Experience within a technical, engineering, security services, construction, maintenance, or project-based environment will be advantageous. Experience with management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Experience with fixed assets, reconciliations, and financial controls. SAP experience, including Job Costing Module, will be advantageous. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with ERP systems and financial management software. Strong financial and commercial acumen. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to communicate and present effectively at all organisational levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational and planning abilities. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Sound decision-making and leadership capabilities. High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Own reliable transport. Willingness to work overtime when required. Clear credit and criminal record.
