Minimum Requirements
- Completed National Diploma Quality Management or Engineering
- At least 3 years' experience as a Quality Specialist or Quality Engineer in an Automotive Manufacturing company
- Trained IATF of ISO auditor highly advantageous
- VDA 6.3 experience highly advantageous
Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Manage plant quality system & compile topics for awareness training
Quality Assurance
- Implement & maintain procedures/work instructions
- Ensure compliance with quality policies
Audits
- Conduct internal process (VDA 6.3:2016), product & layout audits
Supply Quality Assurance (SQA)
- Define supplier AQLs (tolerances, drawings, tooling, PPMs)
- Analyse supplier performance & recommend improvements
- Notify suppliers of non-conformances & corrective actions
Quality Control
- Establish/manage critical control points
- Investigate non-conformances & track corrective actions
- Analyse PPMs/defect trends & recommend improvements
- Conduct Gauge MSA assessments
- Decide disposition of quarantined products (Pass/Reject/Rework)
- Maintain QMS compliance with ISO/TS16949 & VDA6
- Contribute to strategic plans, audits & system improvements
- Develop QA plans via risk analysis & preventive measures
- Validate processes with specs, attributes & documentation
- Liaise with customers & facilitate training/containment
- Control/rework non-conforming products
- Support inspectors in product disposition decisions
- Generate work instructions, flow charts, control plans & FMEAs
- Facilitate MSA & capability studies
- Liaise with Stores & Manufacturing on quality concerns
- Drive supplier development
- Compile audit schedules & conduct compliance audits
- Investigate complaints & maintain product quality
- Coordinate annual reviews & compile reports (monthly/weekly yields)
- Review risks in APQP, ensure compliance & complete PPAP
- Implement countermeasures for continual improvement
- Monitor customer feedback/complaints for improvement
- Approve COCs in QM’s absence
Information Management
- Collate & analyse company data/reports
APQP
- Review risks, ensure compliance, complete PPAP
- Provide input to contract reviews
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain updated improvement plan
People Management
- Ensure enabling culture & safe environment
- Manage team/department performance & objectives
- Compile/update performance contracts & development plans
- Identify training needs & conduct reviews
- Coach staff, manage discipline & resolve disputes
