Job Summary
Under a general supervision of Finance and Administration Officer, the project Accountant will manage project finances, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
Duties
- Establish and maintain robust financial systems.
- Oversee the preparation of payments and journal vouchers.
- Update general ledgers.
- Generate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Develop, monitor and update project budget in collaboration with the project team.
- Assist Finance and Admin Officer to reconcile project bank accounts.
- Manage cash flow and ensure timely disbursement.
- Maintain an accurate project asset register.
- Implement internal control procedures to ensure proper approval, classification and documentation of expenditure.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- At least 3 years professional experience in accounting, particularly in donor-funded or multilateral projects.
Skills And Experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, and computerized accounting softwares.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Team work.
Contract Duration
- Two (2) years and six (6) months with possibility of renewal upon satisfactory performance.
