Stakeholder & Gender Specialist (SGS)

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the National Project Coordinator (NPC), Stakeholder and Gender Specialist will be responsible for developing gender-responsive strategies, conducting gender analysis and ensuring inclusive stakeholder engagement for the project.

Duties

  • Participate in the project Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB).
  • Develop gender action plans and integrate findings from gender analyses into project strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure inclusive decision-making and empowerment of marginalized project beneficiaries.
  • Provide technical support to PMU staff, project partners and service providers in understanding gender equality.
  • Design and lead participatory gender-responsive consultations in collaboration with other field staff, ensuring active involvement of women and vulnerable groups within the project scope.
  • Devise strategies to ensure the project complies with local and international gender equality standards.
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and annual reports timeously.
  • Train Micro Watershed Village Coordinators and project beneficiaries on gender equality and importance of women participation in livelihoods and climate mitigation.
  • Work with M&E Specialist to ensure monitoring and evaluation encapsulate use of disaggregated data (sex, age, ethnicity etc).
  • Support PMU in developing gender specific criteria for selection of investment plans.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Gender studies, Development studies, Social Sciences.
  • At least 5 years experience working in a similar field.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience in gender analysis, stakeholder engagement in environmental and climate change.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Deep understanding of sociocultural context.
  • Knowledge of Participatory tools.

Other Competencies

  • Candidates must pass assessment tests.

Duration of Contract

  • Two (2) years with a possibility of renewal upon satisfactory performance.
