SUMMARY

To perform preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on Continuous Casting Machines (CCM) and associated steel manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum plant availability, production efficiency, safety, and product quality.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on Continuous Casting Machines (CCM). Conduct preventative and scheduled maintenance on casting equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime. Maintain and repair CCM components including: Oscillation tables Withdrawal units Straightening units Segment rollers Roller aprons Guide systems Hydraulic systems Lubrication systems Replace bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, couplings, chains, and drives. Perform alignment and precision fitting of mechanical equipment. Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with CCM operations. Conduct inspections and condition monitoring of equipment. Assist with shutdown planning and execution. Ensure compliance with safety standards and lockout procedures. Complete maintenance reports and job cards. Work closely with Production and Engineering departments to improve machine reliability. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Trade Tested Fitter (Red Seal) Experience Minimum 5 years post-trade experience. Minimum 3 years Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) maintenance experience. Experience within: Steel Manufacturing Iron & Steel Plants Foundries Rolling Mills Mini Mills Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Technical Skills Continuous Casting Machine maintenance. Hydraulic systems. Pneumatic systems. Gearboxes and drives. Bearings and rotating equipment. Mechanical fault finding and diagnostics. Welding and fabrication experience advantageous. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Shutdown and planned maintenance experience.
