SAP Technical Consultant (Senior)- SAP Basis, SAP Technical Operations, SAP HANA, Azure

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior SAP Technical Consultant (SAP Basis) to join a high-performing global technology environment delivering enterprise SAP solutions that support large-scale warehouse, logistics and supply chain operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced SAP Basis professional with strong technical administration, cloud infrastructure, SAP HANA and Oracle database expertise, who enjoys working within Agile teams while supporting mission-critical SAP landscapes. You will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, maintenance and continuous improvement of enterprise SAP environments supporting global operations.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• SAP Basis skills (>6 years)
• PaaS and IaaS knowledge
• Cloud IaaS knowledge i.e. Managing SAP on Azure; AWS
• SAP HANA Database knowledge
• SAP Oracle Database knowledge
• SuSe Linux Operating System knowledge

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

• Driving the vision of the Feature Team in alignment with Team Lead and Sub Product to ensure key results and targets are met.
• Ensure that Operational Key Performance Indicators (OpsKPI's) for the Feature Team are met.
• Ensure that IM (Incident Management), CM (Change Management) and PM (Problem Management) topics assigned to the Feature Team adhere to the Quality and SLA requirements.
• Ensure that the development of systems solutions is in line with quality and delivery requirements.
• Ensure that the creation and updating of relevant system documentation for the Feature Team are in line with approved standards.
• Provide support with requests from Sub Product Owners within the Product.
• • Creation of Feature Team Backlogs.

• Mainframe experience.

• Minimum of 6 years SAP Basis experience.
• Extensive SAP technical knowledge with at least 4–6 years practical system administration experience.
• Solid experience with Project Management methodologies within SAP environments.
• Proven experience supporting Unix, Oracle, SAP ABAP and Java-based NetWeaver systems.
• Experience performing SAP system health checks, dump analysis, trace analysis and system monitoring.
• Strong Solution Manager configuration experience including CHARM and End-to-End Monitoring.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to communicate technical SAP solutions and recommend the most appropriate approach for business requirements.
• Experience with recognised IT Project Management frameworks.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• ITIL process knowledge is advantageous.
• ITIL Foundation V3 certification is advantageous.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.

Details of Main Tasks

The primary responsibilities include proactive monitoring and maintenance of enterprise SAP landscapes with particular focus on planning SAP maintenance activities, system changes and technical operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and coordinating SAP technical maintenance.
• Managing technical projects and maintenance activities.
• Providing 2nd Level SAP Basis support during incidents.
• Analysing system logs and identifying root causes.
• Applying SAP Best Practices throughout the SAP lifecycle.
• Coordinating activities between SAP Technical (Basis) and Functional teams.
• Ensuring optimal SAP system performance and availability.
• Managing SAP infrastructure and associated databases.
• Ensuring hardware resources operate efficiently and reliably.
• Performing scheduled SAP maintenance.
• Producing trend analysis and performance reporting.
• Proactively monitoring SAP environments to minimise downtime.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Troubleshoot SAP Production, Integration, Development and Sandbox environments.
• Maintain SAP environments through upgrades and patch management.
• Implement database changes following approved change control procedures.
• Manage SAP transport requests between Development, Integration and Production environments.
• Ensure all transport activities are fully documented and compliant with approved change management processes.
