Business Process Lead
iqbusiness South Africa
We’re looking for a Business Process Lead to join a delivery-focused team working in a complex operational environment.
This role would suit a senior business analyst who has built strong experience in process improvement and optimisation and is ready to step into a more visible leadership role. You’ll work closely with business, operations, and technical teams to understand how work gets done, where things can improve, and how to turn those insights into practical changes that make a real difference.
We’re looking for someone credible, grounded, and comfortable working through complexity. The right person will be able to build trust with stakeholders, ask the right questions, bring structure where it’s needed, and help deliver process improvements that are clear, workable, and sustainable. This is not a purely technical process engineering role; it is a business-led, analysis-driven role focused on improving how work flows across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business process improvement initiatives from discovery through to implementation.
- Analyse current processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with business, operations, and technical stakeholders.
- Create clear process maps, documentation, and future-state process designs.
- Translate process challenges to make practical recommendations and delivery actions.
- Support teams in adopting improved ways of working and embedding sustainable change.
- Build trusted relationships and keep initiatives moving with clear structure, ownership, and delivery focus.
Key Requirements
- 6–10 years’ experience as a business analyst, with strong exposure to process analysis and optimisation.
- Demonstrated experience leading or owning process improvement initiatives end-to-end.
- Proven ability to step beyond analysis into leadership, facilitation, and delivery ownership.
- Experience working within complex operational environments (e.g., mining, manufacturing, supply chain, or similar) is advantageous.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured improvement methodologies (certification is advantageous but not essential).
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in business analysis, operations, or a related field.
Key Skills
- Business process analysis and improvement
- Current-state and future-state process mapping
- Workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement
- Gap analysis, problem-solving, and practical recommendation development
- Process documentation and clear business communication
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong delivery focus
- Ability to bring structure, clarity, and momentum in complex environments
Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of business analysis and process optimisation techniques.
- Experience with process mapping, modelling, and improvement frameworks.
- Exposure to operational performance metrics and continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with system-enabled process improvement is beneficial.
