PURPOSE
To provide strategic, managerial, governance, and advisory support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) through the management and coordination of strategic programmes, organisational performance monitoring, executive governance processes, stakeholder relations, and the implementation of Board and Executive Management decisions to ensure the achievement of organisational objectives. The role serves as the central coordination point between the CEO, Executive Management, Board Committees, EXCO, the Board, and key stakeholders, ensuring effective execution of strategic priorities and organisational accountability.
POSITION INFO
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Postgraduate Qualification (NQF Level 8) in Business Administration, Public Management, Strategic Management, Governance, or related field. MBA or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage. Minimum 8-10 years' relevant experience in strategy, governance, executive support, organisational performance management, corporate services, or public sector administration. At least 5 years' management experience at a middle or senior management level. Demonstrated experience in working with Executive Management, Boards, or Board Committees. Experience in strategic planning and organisational performance monitoring. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Management and Executive Support Provide strategic advice and support to the CEO on organisational priorities, risks, opportunities, and emerging issues. Coordinate the implementation of the Strategic Plan, Corporate Plan, and Annual Performance Plan (APP). Drive strategic initiatives and special projects on behalf of the CEO. Conduct strategic research and environmental scanning to support executive decision-making. Monitor organisational performance against approved targets and strategic objectives. Prepare executive briefings, strategic reports, presentations, and submissions. Governance, Compliance and Risk Oversight Monitor the implementation of Board, Board Committee, and Executive Committee resolutions. Coordinate governance reporting and organisational compliance activities. Monitor implementation of audit findings, risk mitigation plans, and governance improvement initiatives. Ensure alignment with legislative and regulatory requirements. Provide assurance to the CEO regarding governance and compliance matters. Organisational Performance and Business Integration Coordinate enterprise-wide performance monitoring and reporting. Facilitate integration of divisional plans and organisational priorities. Track strategic and operational performance indicators. Escalate performance risks and implementation challenges to the CEO. Coordinate organisational reviews and performance improvement initiatives. Stakeholder and Executive Relations Management Manage strategic relationships between the CEO and key stakeholders. Coordinate high-level stakeholder engagements and strategic forums. Represent the Office of the CEO in internal and external meetings as delegated. Ensure effective management of stakeholder commitments and action plans. Support the CEO's communications and stakeholder engagement strategies. Management of the Office of the CEO Manage the operations and resources of the Office of the CEO. Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency and accountability. Manage budgets and resources allocated to the Office. Lead and manage employees reporting to the Office of the CEO. Promote good governance, ethical conduct, and high performance.
