Purpose of Role: To remove runners and risers and fettle to appropriate quality standards cast surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Adherence to safety inspection of machines / equipment as per safe work instructions
- Operate machines / equipment in accordance with safe work instructions
- Perform TPM checklists
- Notch runners and risers
- Knock out runners and risers
- Fettle and or grind castings according to the work instructions requirements
- Collect runners and risers in correct material bins
- Move fettled castings to designated areas
- Adherence to quality control as per work instructions
- Report non-conformances and communicate suggestions for improvement to the Foreman
- Identify any potential hazards and risks
- To adhere to required protective clothing rules and ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times
- Report unsafe conditions to Foreman
- Maintain demarcation lines in area of work
- Stack items in allocated areas and in a safe manner
- Attend compulsory safe start / green are meetings at the beginning of every shift
- Adherence to all statutory HSE and housekeeping / 5S requirements
- Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12); or 12 to 24 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid forklift license advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
