About The Company

A well-established food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at a continuous-process manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring maximum plant reliability, driving preventative maintenance programmes, leading a skilled maintenance team, and supporting continuous operational improvement.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Lead the maintenance department and provide hands-on technical leadership. Manage preventative and planned maintenance programmes. Coordinate breakdown response and root cause analysis. Oversee boilers, steam systems, pumps, conveyors and processing equipment. Manage artisans, maintenance assistants and technical specialists. Control engineering stores, spare parts and maintenance budgets. Ensure compliance with safety, statutory and engineering standards. Drive plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum Requirements Red Seal Millwright qualification (essential). Minimum 7 years' maintenance experience within heavy industrial, food manufacturing or FMCG environments. At least 3 years' experience leading a maintenance team. Strong experience with preventative maintenance systems. Hands-on experience with boilers, steam systems, pumps, conveyors and processing equipment. Proven leadership in a continuous manufacturing environment. Advantageous GMR 2 qualification. Experience managing PLC and electrical specialists. Food manufacturing, FMCG or chemical manufacturing experience.
