Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (Mining)

Our client is seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their Pretoria Head Office team. This opportunity is ideally suited to a driven professional with a strong background in mining projects and a passion for delivering commercial excellence across complex engineering and construction environments. The role offers exposure to projects across South Africa and selected African regions, with occasional travel to site locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and project financial reporting.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Evaluate variations, claims, and payment certificates.
• Monitor project costs and provide commercial guidance to project teams.
• Assist with procurement and tendering processes.
• Conduct cost analyses and identify opportunities for improved project efficiency.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc Quantity Surveying degree and Honours qualification.
• Qualification obtained from the University of Pretoria or the University of the Free State.
• 5–8 years of post-Honours Quantity Surveying experience.
• Extensive mining project experience is essential and non-negotiable.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites within South Africa and Africa.
