Our client in the Manufacturing and Industrial Flooring Industry is looking for a Product Specifications Specialist to join their team based in Milnerton, Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to secure product specifications for the Organisation and affiliated brands of products for building projects. The ideal candidate will be a person who is confident, positive, organised, and self-motivated, who is able to open doors and develop new relationships.

Required Qualifications & Working Experience

• Matric Certificate
• Degree or Diploma will be advantageous
• 3 – 5 years working experience in similar role, Technical Sales, or Internal Sales within the same or similar industry
• Valid drivers license and own vehicle
• Proficiency using the full MS Office Suite

POSITION INFO

Duties & Responsibilities: Organisational Reporting: Project Pipeline Working with and Management of specifying services suppliers and platforms Search, Identify and Record New & Existing Projects: Search paid-for and public platforms to identify and record all projects relevant to the organisations product offerings Work with all service providers, specifying services, to search for, identify and record all projects relevant to the organisations product offering Networking and Relationship Building: Target specifying market, including corporate clients, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Interior Designers, Construction Companies, Facility/ Property Managers and Engineers to introduce the organisations range of relevant products to the market Monthly presentations and on-site or virtual engagements with Specifying Professionals Marketing: Assist in preparation for any exhibition that we either attend alone or jointly with distributors Effective Customer Service: Prepare detailed quotes, including availability, price and delivery forecast effectively and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and requirements Take a pro-active approach to understanding product applications and alternatives Stock awareness - select stock in accordance with First in First Out (FIFO) principles whenever practical Raise all necessary documentation, including other acknowledgements Amend customer orders where necessary Reliable Customer Feedback: Proactively contacting customers, keeping them informed at all times Notify customers of any known issues or information that may conflict with their requirements or cause delays Resolving Complaints: Ensure all customer complaints are recorded, providing the necessary details to carry out the relevant corrective and preventative actions, credit notes and sundry invoices where applicable Have the correct EQ to overcome challenges and defuse conflict Effective Communication: Ensure all client information is completed in a timely and precise manner Ability to communicate effectively with Director level professionals, Architects, Interior Designers, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers Other: Attend Sales meetings Monthly and Quarterly Project and Account activity reporting Other reporting as required Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly goal setting Business travel planning Responsible for managing all aspects of the technical/commercial customer interface to generate increased profitable sales Create project and sales pipeline in support of tactical objectives and provide additional input in the form of detailed pipeline forecast plans, etc. with regular reporting Prepare and present customer presentations, quotations and orders. Maintain area/ customer records Control cost through effective use of resources/ route planning Teamwork: Cover effectively and efficiently for absent colleagues Support and cooperate with all members of the organisation Ensure that the proactive/ positive departmental image is either upheld or increased Contribute to team morale
