Internal Sales Representative – Technical Support (Repairs Focus)

About The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a technically skilled, hands-on individual with an electronics background to join a dynamic technical sales and support environment. This role is primarily focused on repairs, technical assessment, and instrument servicing, with secondary internal sales responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with walk-in customers, handling repairs, calibrations, troubleshooting, and technical product support, while also assisting with internal sales processes as required. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong electronics or instrumentation background who wants to grow into a broader customer-facing technical and sales support role.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Technical Repairs & Instrument Servicing (Core Focus) Receive and process walk-in customer repair units and enquiries Diagnose and assess faulty electrical instruments and tools Perform small-scale electronic repairs (e.g. LCD screen replacements, PCB-level checks, continuity testing) Test multi-meter leads and related electrical test equipment Identify whether units fall under warranty or repair Order small components and replacement parts for repairs Ensure repaired units are tested, functional, and quality-checked before return Manage repair and calibration workflow from intake to completion Communicate repair and calibration status updates to customers Calibration & Process Management Track calibration timelines and follow up with service providers Maintain accurate repair, calibration, and warranty records Monitor recurring product faults and identify trends Document all repair processes accurately and systematically Customer Interaction & Walk-in Support Assist walk-in customers with technical product issues and repair requests Provide clear feedback on repair status and outcomes Ensure a professional and customer-focused service experience Ensure customers receive repaired units and are fully satisfied with outcomes Internal Sales Support (Secondary Function) Assist with internal sales processing, quotations, and order support Provide product selection assistance based on technical requirements Support telesales and internal customer queries when required Identify opportunities to convert walk-in customers into repeat account customers Minimum Requirements Matric Post-matric qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field 3-5 years' experience in electronics, instrumentation, repairs, or technical support Strong understanding of electrical tools, multimeters, and test equipment Ability to perform small-scale electronic repairs (or willingness to be trained) Experience working with industrial or electrical products (advantageous) Skills & Competencies Strong electronics and technical troubleshooting ability Hands-on repair capability and attention to detail Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work with precision and follow technical processes Organised, methodical, and process-driven Ability to manage multiple repair jobs simultaneously Willingness to learn internal sales processes over time Important Note This is a technical, hands-on repair-focused role , with internal sales support responsibilities. The ideal candidate will come from an electronics / instrumentation / technical repair background and will be trained further in internal sales processes.
