Purpose of position

Managing and leading the liabilities team to continually improve customer service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Attending to allocation of new claims
  • Managing liability payments and authorisation thereof
  • Updating daily payment stats and data
  • Attending to payment escalation responses
  • Managing complaints and escalation emails
  • Authorising and finalising claims
  • Managing team performance to achieve targets
  • Dealing with client queries and complaints professionally and in line with company values
  • Managing escalations and relationships with other insurers
  • Providing weekly feedback to legal managers
  • Providing coaching and training of staff
  • Handling and monitoring performance-related issues as well as disciplinary matters

Requirements

  • Matric (essential)
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in short term insurance claims or legal
  • Liabilities experience
  • Management experience (advantageous)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
