We're Hiring: Data Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Gauteng (Onsite)

Are you passionate about building scalable data platforms and transforming raw data into meaningful business insights?

Our client in the Telecommunications industry is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their team on a 6-month onsite contract in Gauteng.

What You'll Be Doing

Design and build scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines

Develop enterprise data marts and data warehouse solutions

Create reporting datasets and dashboards

Build APIs and integrate enterprise systems

Automate data ingestion and workflow orchestration

Ensure data quality, governance, monitoring and performance

Work with cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics solutions

Required Skills & Experience

3–8+ years' experience as a Data Engineer

Strong SQL skills

Python, Scala or Java

ETL/ELT pipeline development

Data Warehousing & Data Modelling (Star Schema, Fact & Dimension Models)

API development and system integration

Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP

Workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Azure Data Factory

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Advantageous Experience

Kafka

Apache Spark

Data Lake / Lakehouse

Telecom or FinTech industry experience

Data Governance & Data Quality frameworks
