Our client in the mining sector is recruiting for a Senior Piping Designer to join their Project Delivery Group (PDG). The role focuses on creating Piping 3D models and producing 2D drawings, fabrication exchange deliverables, and consistent design data for reporting in accordance with project requirements and company standards. The successful candidate will work with design and engineering teams locally and around the globe to deliver complex small and large-scale engineering projects, forming part of a dynamic team committed to world-class project delivery. Key Responsibilities Adhere to and promote corporate safety and quality culture. Develop a thorough understanding of project scope, execution strategy, cost, and schedule with the Lead Piping Designer. Layout complex plant and piping systems using 3D modelling optimization and design tools. Produce and/or check design deliverables including isometrics, PCFs, and 2D drawings. Perform clash detection and coordinate actions with other disciplines. Place and/or check pipe support design, including special pipe supports with stress analyst input. Develop and/or check piping standard details and validate component dimensions against vendor data. Manage change during design development, including P&IDs, layout, and procurement. Ensure design integrity is maintained between piping design and P&ID development. Develop, coordinate, and/or check piping Material Take Offs (MTOs). Prepare design concepts for internal and client reviews. Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards and project procedures. Review and approve piping technical deliverables. Facilitate piping design reviews, both formal and informal. Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines. Assist in resolving piping design issues throughout the project lifecycle. Provide input to proposals and man-hour estimates. Train and mentor junior and intermediate designers. Promote ethical and professional practices in the execution of piping work. Requirements Mechanical Engineering Degree. Minimum 8 years'' relevant project design experience. Mininum 10 years' experience working on large-scale mining infrastructure projects. Extensive experience in design and modelling for plant layout, piping design, and detailing. Strong client focus. Good leadership skills. Experience in mentoring and supervising designers. Exposure to multi-disciplinary project environments. Familiarity with data-centric design processes.
