SUMMARY

Our clients based in Durban South area, are seeking an experienced

Senior finance Manager to join their team

Key Responsibilities but not limited to

Manufacturing Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with IFRS and OEM reporting standards
  • Prepare and review management accounts, cost reports, and operational finance packs
  • Perform detailed variance analysis on production costs, labour, overheads, scrap, and efficiencies
  • support budgeting and forecasting processes aligned to production volumes and OEM requirements
  • Ensure accurate allocation of labour and overhead costs in line with manufacturing cost structures

Costing & Operational Finance

  • Manage standard costing, bill of materials (BOMs), and cost roll-ups
  • Monitor and analyse direct labour, indirect labour, and overtime costs within a MIBCO environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing financial insight on productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction
  • Partner with production and operations managers to drive cost discipline and profitability

Compliance, Governance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, OEM audit requirements, and internal financial controls
  • Ensure payroll and labour-related costs align with MIBCO agreements and collective bargaining outcomes
  • Support internal and external audits, including OEM customer audits
  • Ensure accurate and timeous statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.)

Unionised Environment & MIBCO Alignment

  • Work closely with HR and Payroll to ensure financial implications of MIBCO wage agreements, allowances, shifts, and overtime are accurately reflected
  • Support costing and budgeting of annual MIBCO wage increases and collective agreements
  • Ensure financial data supports wage negotiations, restructuring, or operational changes where required
  • Maintain accurate records to support labour-related financial queries and disputes

Leadership & People Management Manage, coach, and develop finance staff within the section (clerks, analysts, supervisors) Allocate work, monitor workloads, and ensure deadlines are met in a high-volume manufacturing environment Conduct performance management in line with company policies and unionised workplace requirements Support skills development, training, and succession planning within the finance function Stakeholder & OEM Support Act as a finance business partner to production, supply chain, HR, and plant management Provide financial input into operational meetings, productivity reviews, and plant performance discussions Responding to finance-related queries from OEM customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders Support cross-functional projects such as new model launches, capacity changes, or automation initiatives Qualifications: BCom Hons. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (essential) Professional qualification or progress toward SAIPA / CIMA / SAICA (advantageous) Skills Required Computer Literate (Intermediate). Good Communication Skills (verbal & written). Strong Interpersonal & People Management Skills (Analytical, Problem-Solving, & Decision-Making skills). Ability to work well in a team. Agile Leadership Skills to deliver on continuous improvements and projects. Strong understanding of manufacturing costing and labour cost structures Solid knowledge of MIBCO agreements and their financial implications Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (SAP, Syspro, Oracle, or similar) High Attention to detail.
