Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) with a Rigging Training Background

Location: New Germany (Durban) South Africa (Extensive Travel Required)

Rigger Training Academy is seeking an experienced and motivated Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) with a strong rigging training background to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically competent professional who is passionate about lifting safety, inspections, training, and developing industry skills. The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively to client sites across South Africa and Africa.

Minimum Requirements

Qualified Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI).
Registered with LEEASA.
Registered with ECSA.
Proven background in Rigging Training accros all sectors
Registered Assessor and Moderator (advantageous).
Qualified Artisan Rigger (advantageous).
Valid driver's licence.
Willing and able to travel nationally and internationally
Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of lifting machinery and lifting tackle in accordance with applicable legislation and industry standards.
Deliver onsite rigging training, refresher training, and lifting safety programmes.
Conduct competency evaluations for riggers, crane operators, and maintenance personnel.
Review lifting plans, rigging procedures, and work instructions.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to improve lifting operations, safety, and compliance.
Assist clients with lifting equipment audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compile professional inspection reports and technical documentation.
Represent Rigger Training Academy with professionalism and technical expertise.
