CK Africa Talent (Pty) Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a confidential client, a leading manufacturing plant in Gauteng, for an experienced Millwright with supervisory experience. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing mechanical, electrical, and PLC maintenance while managing a small team of technicians and fitters.
The successful candidate will ensure high equipment uptime, maintain compliance with safety standards, and mentor junior staff. Competitive salary: R33,000 + Medical Aid (Optional) + Provident Fund.
Main Purpose of the Job
To maintain the entire factory electrical and mechanical operations while achieving 95% equipment availability. The role includes hands-on maintenance, fault-finding, and supervising a team of technicians and fitters.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections in designated areas in line with maintenance schedules
Perform repairs and maintenance on all plant equipment
Fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical circuits and systems
Carry out approved electrical installations
Support Boilermakers and Fitters where required
Execute planned maintenance in accordance with job cards
Maintain tools, ensuring proper use and cleanliness
Contribute to plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Matric (Grade 12)
Trade Tested Millwright
4–5 years’ experience within a manufacturing/production environment
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
Strong technical experience in:
PLC systems
Hydraulics
Pneumatics
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Valid driver’s licence and own transport

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and lead a team
High attention to detail and safety compliance
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure in a production environment
