Senior Transport Engineering Lead (PrEng)

An exciting opportunity is available for an accomplished Professional Engineer to take ownership of major transport and public infrastructure projects while leading engineering teams, strengthening client partnerships, and supporting the continued growth of a respected consulting environment. This position combines technical excellence with leadership and business development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage transport engineering projects through all project phases.
• Supervise engineering designs, reports, estimates, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination and provide technical guidance across project teams.
• Oversee construction monitoring, site inspections, contract administration, and commissioning activities.
• Drive project delivery while maintaining quality, budget, and programme requirements.
• Support business development initiatives, client engagement, and proposal preparation.
• Assist with departmental resource planning, financial management, and strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Mentor engineers-in-training and contribute to staff development.

Requirements

• BEng or BTech in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with ECSA.
• Minimum 15 years' engineering experience within public infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 10 years' experience as a registered professional.
• Strong knowledge of transport engineering design and construction practices.
• Experience managing engineering teams and client relationships.
• Excellent organisational, commercial, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Valid driver's licence with willingness to travel to project sites.
