Purpose Of Job/Job Objective
Responsible as mobile field technician for installations and maintenance of consumer products and solutions within the geographic service area and ensure adherence to quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibility: (50%)
Field service including technical product installation, deinstallation and maintenance on Powerfleet Retail product range.
Ensure technical procedures and work instructions are always adhered to.
Ensure timeous arrival at scheduled work and client premises.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with related procedures and fitment instructions.
Ensure highest level of client services is rendered during the field service.
Ensure daily communication to administrator and manager on site progress.
Escalate issues timeously regarding delays, stock and vehicle related issues etc.
Ensure your daily, monthly fitment targets are achieved in line with the required organisation quality standards.
Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Ensure diplomacy and technical dress code is always adhered to during working hours.
Asset Management and Stock Control (10%)
Ensure adherence to the Powerfleet Company Vehicle Policy including the transport legislation.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and weekly vehicle reports to facilitate clean and damage free vehicles and correct mileage.
Secure and always maintain company assets such as cellular phones and/or special equipment.
Manage the return of faulty stock every two working days.
Ensure timeous and accurate weekly stock count, stock replenishment according to minimum stock quantities.
Administrative Responsibilities (20%)
Ensure that every unit fitted is successfully tested and you obtain a test reference number from Salesforce.
Detailed resolution for any maintenance (repairs) done. Record the issue and what was done to solve the issue. Send via e-mail to manager.
Ensure clear digital photos are taken on all job discrepancies, tampering and vehicle abuse.
Manage the daily calendar for work scheduled to you.
Responsible for all administrative matters relating to overtime, cell phone and data usage, vehicles etc.
Comply with the Powerfleet installation quality requirements.
Reporting (15%)
Report daily on all projects and sites.
Report all problems experienced in the workday (at the office and at sites).
Provide monthly overtime reports on the 1st working day of the new month.
Report on all perceived device faults weekly and hand in the perceived faulty device.
Personal Development (5%)
Manage personal goal setting, skills development and related technical training with line manager.
Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
Comply with the annual health and safety medical assessment and eye test.
Annual technician recertification.
Driver assessment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Matric and NQF level three or equivalent.
Tertiary education or equivalent
Valid driver’s licence
Basic experience on servicing vehicles (electrical/mechanical work on vehicles). Duration 1 to 2 years.
