What You’ll Do
You’ll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge, including:
- Lead and manage a shift-based team of approximately 30 team members, ensuring full shift coverage and strong leadership presence
- Oversee day-to-day floor operations, including workload allocation, escalation handling, and real-time problem-solving
- Ensure reconciliation, payment processing, and exception handling processes are executed accurately and on time
- Monitor and manage KPIs, SLAs, and quality metrics, driving corrective actions where needed
- Build and scale the team through effective hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning
- Develop team leads and supervisors, ensuring clear accountability and escalation structures
- Manage rosters, shift schedules, leave planning, and overtime to maintain consistent operational coverage
- Identify process inefficiencies or risks and partner with engineering and product teams to drive improvements
- Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Product, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure operational readiness for new launches and markets

What You’ll Bring
You’re someone who brings:
- 5+ years’ experience in banking, payments, or financial services operations
- At least 2+ years managing large teams (15+ people) in a shift-based environment
- Proven ability to build, scale, and develop high-performing operational teams
- Strong understanding of reconciliation, payment processing, and exception handling workflows
- Demonstrated ability to enforce process discipline and operational excellence at scale
- Experience managing rosters and shift coverage in a 24/7 or extended-hours environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Product, Finance, and leadership teams
- Data-driven mindset, with experience working with performance metrics and reporting dashboards
- Resilience, adaptability, and a hands-on leadership approach
Desirable Skills You’ve Got Up Your Sleeve
It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
- Experience working across multiple African markets in banking or payments
- Exposure to reconciliation or automation tools (e.g. AutoRek, Duco, ReconArt, BlackLine)
- A formal qualification in operations management, business, or finance
