Key Responsibilities Management Reporting & Commercial Insights Prepare and deliver monthly management reports for business units and group reporting purposes. Produce financial reports that support operational and strategic decision-making. Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful commentary on business performance. Present financial information to senior stakeholders in a clear and commercially focused manner. Collaborate with technical specialists to understand and validate cost allocation methodologies and key business drivers. Coordinate financial inputs for budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting cycles. Support expense management initiatives through detailed financial analysis. Partner with business leaders to develop reports that improve operational visibility and decision-making. Contribute to strategic finance initiatives and business improvement projects. Financial Control & Governance Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring financial transactions are complete, accurate, and appropriately recorded. Review revenue, expenditure, balance sheet reconciliations, and other key financial balances to ensure accuracy and completeness. Oversee intercompany accounting and ensure balances remain reconciled and well managed. Review the work of junior finance team members while providing coaching and guidance. Identify financial risks proactively and recommend practical solutions. Continuously improve financial controls, reporting processes, and governance frameworks. Operational Finance Review daily payment processes and supporting documentation. Lead and mentor junior finance professionals, ensuring high-quality execution of recurring deliverables. Monitor cash flow requirements and assist with liquidity management. Perform detailed monthly trial balance reviews. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process automation and continuous improvement initiatives. Tax & Regulatory Reporting Prepare indirect tax submissions and support statutory compliance requirements. Assist with specialized tax calculations and regulatory reporting processes. Support internal, external, and regulatory audit engagements by preparing information and resolving audit queries. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and internal governance requirements. Job Experience & Skills Required Education Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) Active SAICA membership is essential. Experience Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience. Experience within financial services, insurance, or another highly regulated industry will be advantageous. Proven experience in financial reporting, management reporting, and financial control. Previous experience supervising or mentoring finance professionals. Skills Strong technical accounting knowledge. Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability. Commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into business insights. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems; exposure to Sage X3 would be advantageous. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Non-Negotiables CA(SA) qualification. SAICA membership. Strong IFRS knowledge. Leadership or supervisory experience. Excellent analytical capability.
