Trauma & Emergency Trained Registered Nurse - Pretoria

Join a leading private hospital in Pretoria, Gauteng, as a Trauma and Emergency Trained Registered Nurse. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional with trauma and emergency nursing experience, strong clinical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

*Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to trauma and emergency patients in accordance with hospital policies and best practice standards.

*Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritise care based on the severity and urgency of patients' conditions.

*Monitor, assess, and manage critically ill or injured patients, recognising and responding promptly to changes in their clinical condition.

*Initiate emergency interventions within scope of practice and collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

*Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, and life-saving interventions in a fast-paced emergency environment.

*Administer prescribed medications, intravenous therapy, blood products, and other treatments safely and accurately.

*Operate and monitor emergency and critical care equipment, ensuring all equipment is functional and readily available.

*Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation in accordance with legal and professional standards.

*Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control measures, patient safety initiatives, and quality assurance protocols.

*Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing care where appropriate.

*Participate in emergency preparedness, disaster management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

*Mentor and support junior nursing staff, students, and newly appointed team members where required.

*Collaborate effectively with doctors, allied healthcare professionals, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient-centred care.

*Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and adherence to the standards of the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Education

*Diploma/Degree in Trauma and Emergency Nursing

*Registered with the South Africa Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse

*Diploma/Degree in General Nursing

*2-3 Years Experience in Trauma and Emergency Department

Experience

*Previous Trauma and Emergency Nursing Experience.

*2-3 Years Experience in Trauma and Emergency Department

*Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department.

*Strong communication and teamwork skills.

*BLS certification advantageous.

*ACLS certification advantageous.
