Job Description,

Macsteel Tube & Pipe is looking for a highly skilled quality who is responsible for conducting quality inspections across production lines to ensure that all products meet established quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. The role focuses on identifying non-conformances, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with quality management systems, and working closely with production teams and stakeholders to uphold Macsteel Tube & Pipe's commitment to excellence and product integrity.

Requirements,

  • Minimum Matric / Grade 12 or technical certificate essential.
  • Intermediate proficient levels in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Intermediate proficient levels in SAP
  • Working knowledge of QMS & ISO Systems is essential
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment
  • Working knowledge of test certificates
  • Understand ECR (Electronic Content Management) and electronic product test certificates.
  • Product Knowledge of all Macsteel products and the ability to understand and learn new products
  • Prepared to multi-task, work overtime or shifts when required
  • The ability to communicate in English

Duties and Responsibilities,

Quality

  • Comply with work rules, standards and methods.
  • Read drawings, technical data sheets and specifications to compare with outgoing material to ensure that material has been manufactured according to the QCP’s / SANS specification/ Customer Specifications.
  • Completion of inspection reports and ensuring traceability
  • Report any conformances and request for restrictions
  • Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
  • Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process.
  • Inspect, test, and / or measure materials or products being produced / cut.
  • Measure material with relevant tools i.e. rulers, callipers, gauges, or micrometres.
  • Accept or reject finalised material / items.
  • Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
  • Apply remedial action and inform all relevant parties.
  • Perform any reasonable and lawful instruction from management

Stakeholder Management

  • Provide specialised technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
  • Build, support and maintain interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and SHEQ requirements.
  • Adhere to safe working practices and report risks or non-conformances.
