Manganese Metal Company (“MMC) based in Mbombela (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga Province), is the world’s largest producer of 99.9% electrolytic manganese metal (“EMM”). The company has been in operation since 1974, has a unique global marketing network and is a niche market supplier of EMM to an established international customer base.

We supply more than 120 customers in over 20 countries and our systems, equipment, safe operating philosophy and excellent business practices provide our customers with peace of mind, first-class quality and reliable supply. Our products are used in the top-end of the market, in the aluminum, steel, non-ferrous alloys, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, chemicals and welding consumable industries.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The job incumbent will be responsible for providing HR support and serve as a consultant to line management and staff in designated business units on all matters impacting people. This service includes the provision of guidance and advice in terms of recruitment and selection, employee relations, disability and ill-health management, employee benefits and workforce planning. The HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE JOB

In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the Human Resource team reporting to the People Manager. At MMC, the Human Resources section plays a critical role in best practice people management. We strive towards the provision of a stable and competent workforce and ensure competitive talent attraction and remuneration and reward systems.

You will be part of the daily excitement of delivering the world’s highest quality EMM to customers all over the world, directly from the lovely town of Mbombela (Nelspruit).

JOB OBJECTIVES

  • Provide General HR Service Delivery.
  • Co-ordinate Workforce Planning and Labor Availability.
  • Facilitate recruitment & selection, on-boarding and termination process.
  • Monitor and resolve disciplinary incidents.
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the disability and ill-health management process.
  • Maintain HR Management Systems, Personal Records and compile reports

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree/National Diploma in People Management or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Human Resources experience.
  • Intermediate computer literacy.
