Minimum Requirements

Matric certificate / equivalent

Diploma / Degree in: Information Technology / Computer Science or related field

Relevant certifications — CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, CCNA or JNCIA-Junos,

2–5 years IT support experience

Experience in a multi-user or multi-site environment

Exposure to mining environment

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Basic to intermediate knowledge of: Hardware and software troubleshooting

Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

Windows operating systems and Office 365

Active Directory and user administration

Understanding of IT support processes (helpdesk, ticketing systems)

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide first line technical support to end-users including escalation of matters

Install, configure, and maintain: Desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices, Printers and peripheral equipment

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Support users both onsite and remotely

Log and track incidents, service requests, and resolutions

Assist in maintaining IT core infrastructure, including Network systems (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN), Servers and shared systems, monitor system performance and report issues

Assist with system updates, patches, and upgrades

Support Active Directory tasks (user setup, password resets, access control)

Create and manage user accounts and system access

Ensure compliance with IT security policies and access control procedures

Support implementation of cybersecurity practices

Identify and report potential system vulnerabilities or risks

Promote safe IT usage practices among users

Support business applications such as: ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP), HRIS and payroll systems

Assist users with system-related queries

Escalate complex system issues to Senior IT or external providers

Ensure data accuracy and system usability

Maintain IT asset register and inventory records

Track allocation of hardware and software

Assist with procurement and replacement of IT equipment

Ensure proper setup and disposal of IT assets

Maintain records of: Service requests and incidents, System configurations and User access and changes

Assist with IT reporting and audit documentation

Ensure all IT activities are properly documented

Support IT projects such as: System rollouts, Software implementations and Infrastructure upgrades

Assist in testing and deploying new systems

Identify opportunities to improve IT processes and services

Collaborating with IT team members and other departments

Provide professional and timely support to users

Maintain a strong customer service focus

Escalate issues appropriately and provide feedback
