Minimum Requirements
Matric certificate / equivalent
Diploma / Degree in: Information Technology / Computer Science or related field
Relevant certifications — CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications
2–5 years practical IT support experience, preferably in field/site environments
Experience in mining operations

Hardware installation and troubleshooting
Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi)
Basic server and systems support
Remote access technologies (VPN, remote desktop tools)
IT asset and device management
Basic cybersecurity awareness
Reliability and accountability
Adaptability in changing environments
Willingness to travel and support multiple sites
Proactive and hands-on approach
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide first- and second-line technical support at operational sites
Install, configure, and maintain: Workstations, laptops, rugged devices, Printers, scanners, and field peripherals
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in real-time operational environments
Respond to IT incidents and resolve issues within defined service levels
Support mobile and remote workforce connectivity
Assist in installation, maintenance, and monitoring of: Local area networks (LAN), Wireless networks (Wi-Fi) and Site connectivity solutions (VPN, satellite, fibre, LTE)
Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues
Ensure reliable communication systems between site and head office
Support VOIP systems and site communication platforms
Install and configure IT equipment for new sites, projects, or expansions
Assist in system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations
Support deployment of: ERP / HRIS system interfaces, Time & attendance systems and Safety and operational systems, Ensure proper configuration and testing before system use
Maintain accurate records of IT equipment deployed on-site, track asset movement, allocation, and condition
Support inventory management and asset lifecycle processes
Assist with procurement requests and equipment replacement, ensure adherence to IT security policies and standards, implement access control and secure user authentication
Identify and report security risks, breaches, or vulnerabilities
Ensure systems comply with: Company IT policies, POPIA requirements and Data protection standards
Promote safe IT practices among site users, maintain logs of incidents, service requests, and resolutions
Document system configurations and site installations
Provide regular updates to IT management on site performance
Support audit requirements through accurate documentation, provide on-site assistance and guidance to end-users
Train users on IT systems, tools, and applications, Support onboarding of new employees with IT setup, Encourage adherence to IT policies and procedures
Assist with IT-related project activities and deployments, identify recurring issues and suggest improvements
Support system optimization initiatives for site efficiency
Collaborate with IT team and vendors for service improvement
