COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT AND POLICY (ELMP), SCHOOL OF EDUCATION, EDGEWOOD/PIETERMARITZBURG CAMPUS.

The School of Education is globally recognised for its world-class programs in pre-service teacher education, adult education, workplace learning, and higher education. We are committed to offering teacher education that is appropriate to both national and global contexts, of a high quality, and accessible to a diverse range of students.

The School seeks to employ a dedicated individual to coordinate and lecture on modules in Educational Leadership Management and Policy at the postgraduate level and supervise postgraduate students. This position requires an academic who is willing to engage with curriculum development and delivery and who will play a leading role in teaching and research in the Educational Leadership Management and Policy sub-discipline

The incumbent will report to the Head of Discipline.

Minimum requirements

  • A Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy or other related sub-disciplines
  • At least 6 years of working and relevant experience in either teaching, research, or industry
  • Evidence of current and sustained publication of independent research in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level (18 - 30).
  • Evidence of sustained and successful attraction of external research grants
  • A sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level, appropriate for the level
  • Evidence of national and international recognition in a research area within the sub-discipline
  • Evidence of strong and sustained academic leadership within the Discipline / School / College / University, which includes mentorship and coaching
