Job Purpose
The Road Fund Secretariat requires the services of a suitably qualified Lesotho National to fill the position of Chief Internal Audit.
The Chief Internal Audit provides an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the Road Fund’s operations by helping the organisation accomplish its objectives through a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The Chief Internal Audit serves as the Chief Audit Executive of the Road Fund and leads the Internal Audit function by independently evaluating the effectiveness of the Road Fund’s policies, procedures, and controls to ensure financial, physical, and information resources are properly managed.
Qualifications, Working Experience And Knowledge
Applicants must possess either:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or a Master’s Degree in Internal Auditing or Accounting, with at least eight (8) years of working experience, including a minimum of four (4) years at a senior level (at least Internal Audit Manager) within an Internal Audit function.
OR
- A Degree in Internal Auditing or Accounting, Registered Accountant qualification, or Internal Audit Technician (IAT), with at least ten (10) years of working experience, including a minimum of five (5) years at a senior level (at least Internal Audit Manager) within an Internal Audit function.
Essential Requirements
- Knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, testing, and sampling methods used in conducting audits.
- Knowledge of computerised accounting and auditing record-keeping systems.
- Ability to gather, analyse, and evaluate information and prepare concise oral and written reports.
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of developments affecting internal auditing techniques and business practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board, Board Committees, Management, Staff, Implementing Agencies, key public sector offices, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
Remuneration
Salary will be in accordance with the Road Fund’s remuneration scales, which are competitive and market-related.
