Tax Client Accountant Market-related Package Cape Town Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working directly with clients and delivering high-quality financial and tax solutions? We are looking for a detail-oriented Client Accountant to join a professional services team where you'll play a key role in providing accounting, tax, and advisory support to a diverse client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical accounting background who is passionate about building client relationships while ensuring compliance with financial reporting and tax regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting Prepare annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietorships in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Prepare compilation and Independent Review files. Review and analyse financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Maintain high standards of financial reporting across a diverse client portfolio. Tax Compliance & Advisory Prepare and submit tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies. Prepare and submit provisional tax calculations. Liaise directly with SARS regarding client queries and compliance matters. Monitor tax deadlines and ensure all submissions are completed accurately and on time. Provide practical tax support and guidance to clients. Client Relationship Management Serve as a trusted point of contact for client queries. Communicate accounting and tax matters clearly and professionally. Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships. Identify opportunities to improve client processes and add value through proactive advice. General Practice Support Assist with workflow planning and administrative support. Support billing processes and fee preparation. Maintain accurate client records across internal systems. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency within the practice. Minimum Requirements Qualifications BCom, BCom Accounting, or an equivalent qualification. Progress towards or completion of SAICA or SAIPA articles will be advantageous. Experience 3–5 years' relevant experience in accounting, tax, or audit. Experience preparing and reviewing annual financial statements. Previous experience in a client-facing professional services environment will be advantageous. Technical Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience using accounting software such as CaseWare, Xero, Pastel, or similar. Experience with tax software such as ProfTax and SARS eFiling will be advantageous. Exposure to SharePoint will be beneficial.
