POSITION INFO

A well-established medium-sized building contractor based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Intermediate Estimator to join their pre-contracts team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated estimator looking to build a long-term career with a reputable company delivering a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential building projects. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 3-6 years' experience as an Estimator within the building construction industry. Proven experience pricing building tenders from first principles. CCS (Candy Construction Software) experience is essential. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and rates. Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings accurately. Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines. Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Building. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and competitive tender estimates. Measure quantities from drawings and specifications. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Compile Bills of Quantities and pricing schedules. Analyse project costs and identify value engineering opportunities. Assist with tender submissions and post-tender negotiations. Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases. Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams.
