POSITION INFO

A well-established building contractor has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a portfolio of school renovation and addition projects across the Cape Town region. Minimum Requirements: ✔ Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (BTech, National Diploma or Degree) ✔ 3-8 years' experience with a reputable building contractor ✔ Proven experience on building renovation, alteration and addition projects ✔ Experience working on school, commercial or institutional projects will be advantageous ✔ Strong knowledge of cost control, valuations, subcontractor management and final accounts ✔ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications ✔ Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills ✔ Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage project budgets and cost reports Measure, value and certify subcontractor payment claims Procure and administer subcontractor packages Prepare monthly valuations and cost forecasts Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities Manage variations, claims and final accounts Work closely with the Site Team to ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme If you are a motivated Quantity Surveyor looking to join a respected building contractor delivering meaningful education infrastructure projects, we would like to hear from you.
