SUMMARY

Meat Traders is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Salesperson to grow our beef, sheep and pork product sales in Queenstown and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key retail and wholesale accounts, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating with customers, and driving profitable sales growth across the region.

What The Role Involves

  • Driving sales growth across retail, wholesale, butchery and food-service customers.
  • Managing and expanding key customer accounts while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Identifying new market opportunities and opening new accounts in line with business targets.
  • Negotiating pricing, promotions, product ranges and service agreements within approved parameters.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, customer demand and market trends, and reporting insights to management.
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate orders, reliable deliveries and excellent customer service.
  • Supporting junior sales staff through guidance, coaching and shared best practice where required.

POSITION INFO

Minimum requirements Grade 12 (Matric) is essential. A relevant qualification in Business, Marketing or a related field will be advantageous. 5 to 7 years' proven sales experience, preferably within the meat, protein, retail, wholesale or food-service industry. Strong knowledge of meat products, customer needs and the retail/wholesale market environment. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently, manage a sales territory and consistently achieve targets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales reporting tools. A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel are essential. Fluency in English is essential; isiXhosa will be advantageous.
