Junior IT Technician

ROLE OVERVIEW

Entry-level technical support role responsible for day-to-day IT and business systems support under direct supervision. The successful candidate will assist with hardware, software, and networking across client sites, and will develop hands-on skills across all areas of the business. The role may require travel to other SKG branches as needed. Overtime will be required from time to time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Support

• Desktop and remote support for end users
• Printer installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting
• User setup: hardware configuration and software installation
• Business systems support and basic troubleshooting
• Logging and escalating support requests appropriately

Hardware Repair and Maintenance

• Cleaning, basic repair, and upgrading of laptops and desktops
• PC assembly under supervision
• Monitor and screen cleaning and basic fault identification

Network Infrastructure

• Structured cabling and cable management
• Patch panel and switch port patching
• Cable testing and labelling

General

• Driver duties as required
• Site support and logistics assistance
• Occasional travel to other SKG branches may be required
• Overtime will be required from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA N+
• Valid driver's licence
• Basic Microsoft 365 proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• 1 year IT support experience or equivalent internship/learnership

Psychometric tests are required to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates.
