SUMMARY
Our client, a leader in their field, is currently looking to employ a Coal Boiler Operator, based in Port Elizabeth.
POSITION INFO
Requirements: Matric. Relevant trade tested qualification is required. Some relevant experience operating coal-fired boilers / as an artisan would be advantageous. Willingness and ability to work in a 3-shift rotation (40 hours per week). Good communication and teamwork skills. Must be safety-conscious and reliable. Responsibilities: Operate and monitor coal-fired boiler equipment safely and efficiently. Regulate boiler operations by adjusting valves, gauges, and controls. Conduct routine inspections of boiler systems to ensure proper functionality. Perform start-up and shut-down procedures in accordance with operational guidelines. Maintain accurate operational logs and records. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. Report any operational faults or safety hazards immediately. Clean and perform minor maintenance on equipment as required. Assist with coal stock control and reporting. Shift Information: 3-shift rotational schedule: Morning Shift: 06:00 - 14:00 (8% shift allowance) Afternoon Shift: 14:00 - 22:00 (12% shift allowance) Night Shift: 22:00 - 06:00 (14% shift allowance) 40-hour work week. NBC prescribed hourly rate. 15 working days annual leave per year. 15-day annual bonus (pro-rated where applicable).
