Are you an experienced SACPCMP-registered Health & Safety Officer with a passion for maintaining the highest safety standards on civil engineering sites?
We're looking for a proactive, hands-on professional who takes ownership of site compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislation.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected civil engineering contractor working on exciting infrastructure projects across the Cape Province.
POSITION INFO
Responsibilities: â Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and client requirements â Conducting site inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations â Implementing and maintaining SHE policies, procedures, and control measures â Monitoring contractor compliance and maintaining accurate H&S documentation â Managing PPE, plant and equipment compliance, and reporting defects â Coordinating labour attendance, timekeeping, and operator hours â Recording site measurements, daily costing information, and stock documentation â Promoting a proactive safety culture across all site operations Requirements: â Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety experience within the civil construction industry. â SACPCMP Registration (Non-Negotiable) â Relevant Health & Safety qualifications and certificates (First Aid, HIRA, FPPD, Legal Liability, etc.) â Valid driver's licence - Clear criminal record â Strong knowledge of SHE legislation, risk assessments, and contractor management â Excellent administration, reporting, and organisational skills â Ability to work independently while building strong relationships on site â Professional, reliable, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining the highest safety standards
