SUMMARY

A vacancy exists for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter within a high-volume manufacturing environment producing precision plastic closures. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the role focuses on machine setup, process optimisation, and maintaining consistent production output and quality standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and optimising injection moulding equipment to ensure stable production performance, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Set up, prepare, and verify injection moulding machines, moulds, and auxiliary equipment prior to production Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns, and mould/colour changeovers according to standard procedures Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain optimal cycle times, cavitation, and output efficiency Troubleshoot machine and process-related issues to reduce downtime, scrap, and production losses Maintain accurate production records, logs, and performance reporting Support achievement of production efficiency targets, including OEE requirements Collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve breakdowns and recurring technical faults Ensure products consistently meet quality specifications and standards Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste and improving efficiency Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in line with 5S principles Support supervisory duties and act in a Shift Supervisor relief capacity when required Comply with all applicable quality, safety, ISO, and food safety system requirements Minimum Requirements Grade 12 / Matric Advanced Injection Moulding qualification or equivalent technical training Minimum 5 years' injection moulding experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of process optimisation, cycle time control, and cavitation management Proven troubleshooting ability on moulding machinery and processes Experience working in shift-based production environments Willingness to work overtime and attend call-outs when required Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000 systems advantageous Strong communication, analytical, and administrative skills How to apply: Follow the link to our job seekers' page - Click Apply to submit your CV.
