Copy Writer and Editor

My client a Foundation in the Government landscape is looking to employ a Copy Writer and Editor on a fixed term contract who will develop copy for their marketing material and for other business purposes and to ensure the correct language usage and adherence to the Foundation's style guide so as to project a positive image of the Foundation.

• Using existing information or gathering information from other sources (eg through interviews, via web searches etc) to write and develop content for specific communications projects both internal and external.
• To produce video/audio scripts
• To produce speeches for the Foundation executives and others
• Conduct interviews: In person Telephonically By email of Foundation staff, stakeholders and others.
• Proof reading and edit text origin from within the Foundation or outside (External) sources to ensure it is factual and uses correct style and grammar
• Translate scientific and technical terms into easy-to-read content for general use
• Assist in Providing inputs and based on review
• Assisting in producing communication policy

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism or English
• At least 7 years as a writer, editor or both

Knowledge

• Ability to adapt writing style to fit the brand’s tone and voice, whether it's formal, casual, conversational, or authoritative.
• Knowledge of industry trends
• Identifying and correcting grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors.
• Exposure to research and administration

Skills

• Excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to write concise and engaging copy for different uses
• Meticulous and with an eye for detail
• Good project management skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to supervise colleagues reporting directly to the post
• Experience in photography, videography, sound recording and editing thereof.
