Sales Engineer - Water Treatment

The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and

closing sales opportunities for water and wastewater treatment solutions. This role combines

technical expertise with sales skills to provide customized solutions to clients across

industries such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, power, and municipal sectors.

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in water and wastewater treatment.
  • Generate leads through market research, networking, and client visits.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients.

2. Technical Support & Solution Design

  • Understand client requirements and recommend suitable treatment solutions (e.g.,
  • RO, STP, ETP, UF systems).
  • Prepare techno-commercial proposals and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams for system customization.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Conduct site visits and technical discussions with clients.
  • Provide after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.

4. Tendering & Documentation

  • Participate in tenders, RFQs, and bidding processes.
  • Prepare technical documentation and compliance sheets.
  • Negotiate contracts and finalize orders.

5. Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
  • Provide feedback to management for product and strategy improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering (or related
  • field).
  • 2–6 years of experience in water treatment or related industry (ETP/STP/RO systems preferred).

Key Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and system design basics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (knowledge of CRM tools is a plus).
  • Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in industries like pharmaceuticals, textiles, FMCG, power, or
  • infrastructure.
  • Exposure to turnkey projects or EPC environments.
  • Familiarity with government tenders and industrial compliance standards.

Work Environment
