Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Senior Payroll Manager to lead and oversee payroll operations within a large and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full payroll function end-to-end while ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, reporting, and effective team leadership.

This role requires a seasoned payroll professional with extensive management experience and the ability to manage complex payroll structures across multiple payroll streams.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management & Administration

  • Manage the full payroll function from start to finish across multiple payrolls.
  • Ensure payroll processes are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Manage payroll processing for a large employee complement.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations and audit processes.

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly payroll reports.
  • Compile executive-level payroll reports and management information.
  • Analyze payroll data and trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy and timely submission of payroll information.

Compliance & Process Management

  • Ensure adherence to payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within payroll operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll information.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage payroll teams effectively.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Drive accountability and high-performance standards within the payroll function.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Relevant Payroll, Finance, HR, or related qualification advantageous.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' management experience within payroll environments.
  • Comprehensive end-to-end payroll knowledge and experience.
  • Experience managing high-volume payroll environments.
  • Proven experience managing multiple payroll structures.
  • Sage 300 knowledge and experience is essential.
  • Strong reporting and analytical capability.
  • Advanced computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency.
