Job Advert Summary
To protect Rand Water staff, assets and property by granting access permits to only authorised personnel in line with National Key Point Act, the MPSS, Control of Vehicles and Public Premises Act, other relevant legislations as well as site specific procedures and guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
- 2 year relevant experience.
- NKP certificate registration
- PSIRA Grade C registration
- Successful completion of the following Firearm Unit Standards: 123515, 123514 and 123511
- Competency certificate with SAPS in handling a Pistol, Rifle or Hand Machine Carbine as well as shotgun
- Valid driver's license and the ability to pass Rand Water K53 test
Primary Duties
- Access and egress control
Ensure proper hand over is conducted and all Protective Services assets at the gates are accounted for at all times
- Perform duties according to customer needs and expectations
- Administration-logging information on Access Control register, occurrence book, visitors and contractors permits and reception duties, verification of assets as per assets removal permit
- Conduct perimeter, building and area patrols
- Assist during mobile patrols including external (remote sites) and residential patrols
- First aid- minimise injuries and provide support to the injured until help arrives
- Firefighting- minimize damages to the infrastructure and to help arrives
- Assist with evacuations of personnel and vehicles during an emergency
- Surveillance role during industrial action peaceful or violent
- Accident- bystanders are kept away from accident scene and there is a small flow of traffic
- Crime prevention
- Implementation of and obligations of the employer and employee under relevant legislations and standards (OHS Act and ISO standards)
- Implementation of the adherence to any other security and safety related requests from the Executive Manager, Risk Control Manager and Head of Protective Services
- Conduct external patrols (remote sites, Canal etc)
- Supervision of PSO’s and orientation of newly appointed PSO's
