Sylvania Metals is seeking an experienced Boilermaker with 3 to 5 years of industry expertise to join our Millsell Plant maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of critical process equipment, ensuring plant availability and cost control. Key duties include planning and scheduling preventative and planned maintenance, capturing accurate breakdown data, and maintaining detailed equipment history records. This role demands strict adherence to Health and Safety standards in a dynamic, process-driven environment, making it ideal for skilled trades professionals committed to operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possession of a minimum N2 certificate or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Certification as a Boilermaker with a recognized trade certificate.
  • Experience and competency in code welding will be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to maintain and repair a wide range of process equipment efficiently.
  • Strong skills in planning, scheduling, and executing preventative and planned maintenance.
  • Thorough understanding and strict adherence to Health and Safety Standards within an industrial environment.
  • Proficient in capturing breakdown data and maintaining accurate equipment history records.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet operational objectives.
  • Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all process equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement preventative and planned maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere strictly to the company's Health and Safety Standards to promote a safe working environment.
  • Accurately record and analyze breakdown data to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain comprehensive equipment history logs and update maintenance records regularly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
  • Identify potential equipment issues and recommend corrective actions proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to equipment maintenance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff when necessary.
  • Participate in regular safety audits and maintenance reviews to enhance process reliability.
