Marketing Co-Ordinator

Brito's Meat Centres is a well-established leader in the South African meat industry, with manufacturing facilities and a growing network of retail stores across the Western Cape. We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Marketing Co-ordinator to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong FMCG marketing experience who enjoys balancing strategic planning with operational execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing promotional campaigns, managing supplier relationships, monitoring competitor activity, and ensuring that marketing initiatives are effectively implemented across our retail stores.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement an annual marketing and promotional calendar aligned with business objectives.
- Create strategic media plans to support promotional campaigns.
- Plan, coordinate and evaluate consumer promotions to drive sales and strengthen brand awareness.
- Liaise with graphic designers to develop promotional and in-store marketing material.
- Source, negotiate and manage relationships with advertising vendors, including newspapers, radio stations, printers and other marketing service providers, ensuring competitive pricing and maximum value.
- Book and coordinate advertising across various media platforms.
- Conduct regular competitor and market analysis, including monitoring competitor pricing, promotional activity and market trends.
- Work closely with management to ensure pricing strategies remain competitive while protecting margins.
- Monitor the effectiveness of promotions and provide detailed post-campaign analysis and recommendations.
- Visit stores regularly to ensure promotional campaigns and in-store branding are correctly implemented.
- Engage directly with Store Managers to ensure promotional activities are executed effectively and operational standards are maintained.
- Develop concepts for in-store marketing and point-of-sale material.
- Update website content regularly.
- Manage the company's social media presence, including Facebook.
- Create customer newsletters and other marketing communications.
- Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Marketing Diploma or equivalent NQF qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' marketing experience within an FMCG environment.
- Experience in brand, trade and retail marketing.
- Experience negotiating with media houses, printers and other marketing suppliers.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies, gross profit margins and retail promotions.
- Experience conducting competitor and market analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of Google Analytics and digital marketing principles.
- Willingness to travel regularly to stores within the Western Cape.
- Experience within the food manufacturing or retail industry will be highly advantageous.
