Electrical Engineer

Our client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across the buildings, infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors.

They are seeking an experience Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services team

This role is suited to a technically strong engineer with extensive building services design experience who can independently manage projects through all ECSA work stages, provide professional engineering oversight, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements

• BEng/ BSc in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ post graduate electrical engineering experience within a consulting engineering environment
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng) is preferred, or eligibility to obtain registration within one year
• Strong experience in electrical building services design across commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, and institutional projects
• Working knowledge of SANS 10142, SANS 10400-XA, and South African building regulations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in Revit considered advantageous
• Experience using engineering software such as DIALux, Relux, ReticMaster, Helioscope, or other solar PV design packages

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of building services projects across all ECSA work stages.
• Prepare concept, preliminary, and detailed electrical designs, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
• Design building services systems including power, lighting, fire detection, access control, CCTV, public address, nurse call, telecommunications, generators, UPS systems, fibre networks, and renewable energy systems.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Review and sign off engineering designs in accordance with ECSA requirements (where professionally registered).
