Export Sales Manager

The Export Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing export sales across international markets, building long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the efficient delivery of products and services. The role focuses on achieving sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and ensuring compliance with all export regulations.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and implement export sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify and develop new international markets and business opportunities.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing distributors, wholesalers, contractors, and industrial customers.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Conduct regular customer visits and attend international trade exhibitions when required.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity
Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Provide technical and commercial support to customers.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service.
Export Administration
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export documentation, customs requirements, and shipping procedures.
- Work closely with logistics, procurement, and finance departments to ensure timely deliveries.
- Manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping instructions.
- Monitor payment terms and support debt collection where necessary.
Product Knowledge
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's electrical product range.
- Provide customers with suitable product recommendations and technical guidance.
- Work with suppliers to introduce new products into export markets.
Reporting
- Prepare regular sales forecasts and market reports.
- Maintain accurate customer records within the CRM system.
- Report on sales performance, pipeline development, and market opportunities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business Management, International Trade, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Additional qualifications in Export Management or International Business would be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in export sales.
- Previous experience within the electrical wholesale, electrical distribution, industrial, construction, or related sectors is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving international sales targets.
- Experience dealing with distributors and wholesale customers across African and international markets is advantageous.
- Portuguese language proficiency (spoken and written) is preferred.
- English language proficiency is essential.
- Additional African or international languages would be advantageous.
