Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Foreman / Site Manager to strengthen our on-site construction execution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use building projects and possess excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.

POSITION INFO

Minimum Requirements Minimum 10 years' proven experience in the building construction industry. Extensive experience as a General Foreman, Site Manager, or Senior Foreman on building projects. Based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town . Relevant construction qualification or trade certificate will be advantageous. Valid driver's licence. Thorough understanding of South African building regulations, construction methods, and health and safety legislation. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. Strong computer literacy (MS Office; experience with construction management software is advantageous). Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day site activities from project commencement through to completion. Plan, coordinate, and supervise site labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant. Ensure construction work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain project schedules. Coordinate daily site activities and communicate effectively with project management teams. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications. Enforce compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and company safety procedures. Identify and proactively resolve construction, quality, and operational issues. Monitor productivity, labour allocation, material usage, and equipment utilisation. Manage site logistics, deliveries, storage, and housekeeping. Ensure accurate daily site records, progress reports, labour returns, and site documentation are maintained. Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to project stakeholders. Coordinate inspections with consultants, engineers, and local authorities where required. Assist in project planning, sequencing, and resource allocation. Ensure defects are addressed promptly and manage snag lists through to practical completion. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement on site.
